Create a basic Device

Create a basic device step by step

The starting point is the ThingsBoard dashboard which is accessed with provided credentials.

Look in the menu on the left for Entities > Devices. Then, look in the top right corner for a ‘plus’ sign to create a new entitiy.

Information for the Milesight gateway

Useful registration information can be found on each available device. Click on a device, and look for a menu Check connectivity. There are brief instructions for how to communicate with this device (i.e. send information to a device) from various operating systems using various communications protocols (HTTP, MQTT, CoAP).
